Premier League debutants Burnley have confirmed the signing of Feyenoord’s left-back Quilindschy Hartman.
Hartman joined Feyenoord at just 9 years old and dedicated over 14 years to the Rotterdam club. After making his professional debut in 2022, the 23-year-old defender appeared in 83 matches for Feyenoord, helping the team clinch the Eredivisie title in 2023 and the KNVB Beker in 2024.
A significant knee injury hampered Hartman’s chances of transferring to Chelsea in 2024 and limited his contributions during the 2024/25 season, where he made only 12 appearances.
‘A Truly Special Feeling’
Having signed a four-year contract at Turf Moor, Hartman expressed a “special feeling of hunger and excitement” upon joining the Premier League side.
“From the very first conversation I had with the coach, I felt a surge of excitement and was really impressed. I would say he played the biggest role in my decision to come here. I’m thrilled that the deal is finalised, I’m incredibly proud to be part of this club, and I can’t wait to get started next week,” stated the four-time Dutch international on the club’s website.
While Burnley and Feyenoord have not disclosed the transfer fee, reports from Dutch media suggest it to be in the vicinity of €12 million.
