Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged that his side appeared lacklustre in their loss to Fulham on Sunday.
Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon scored late in the match to secure a 2-0 victory for Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Postecoglou stated: “It’s a disappointing result. Up until they scored, I felt we were really dominating the match. It was a closely contested affair, and we hadn’t been forced into a save yet when they scored a very soft goal. After that, the game slipped away from us. It’s frustrating.”
“The match itself wasn’t particularly enjoyable. We had a few opportunities to find the back of the net.”
Regarding a penalty appeal when trailing 1-0, he remarked: “I’ll leave that decision to the officials, but it does seem that our tendency not to appeal can work against us at times.”
“It was a challenging game. I don’t think either team created many chances. We probably had the best opportunity while the score was still 0-0. But as I mentioned, we conceded a soft goal that handed them the advantage.”
“We made several changes today which I believed could benefit the team. That’s the challenge we face from now until the end of the season with both European and league fixtures ahead.”
