The ongoing situation involving Dylan Brown and the Parramatta Eels has taken a new turn following the club’s rejection of a request made by his management team.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Brown’s representatives were seeking a financial bonus to eliminate the first exit clause in his contract.
Sources close to The Herald indicated that the Eels were not open to the conditions regarding the removal of the initial player option or enhancing his contract.
This development follows an email sent by his manager, Chris Orr, to various clubs suggesting that Brown is available for offers. The five-eighth is currently signed until 2031, with player options kicking in from next season.
Brown has until round 10 to negotiate with other clubs, with the ability to do this again in two years’ time.

There’s speculation that Brown’s management is pursuing a contract of $1.2 million annually, whereas he is currently on a $900,000 deal.
In mid-January, Orr informed Triple M that the Eels’ head of football, Mark O’Neill, had requested to resolve the situation prior to round 10.
“We have the option available, and we need to conduct our due diligence, which involves exploring his options,” he mentioned.
Recently, Brown was rumoured to be linked with the Roosters, but chairman Nick Politis dismissed those claims to News Corp.
