Olyroos Maintain Undefeated Streak at U23 Tournament with Contributions from A-League Stars in Draw Against UAE

The Subway Olyroos, featuring a squad packed with talent from the Isuzu UTE A-League, held the United Arab Emirates to a 0-0 stalemate during the Doha International Under-23 Cup on Sunday morning (AEDT).

A remarkable ten out of eleven players in the starting lineup currently showcase their skills in the A-Leagues, with only Sebastian Esposito, a defender from US Lecce, representing overseas-based Olyroos, selected by head coach Trevor Morgan to face the UAE.

The Olyroos approached their second encounter in the tournament following a 2-1 victory over Croatia and maintained their unbeaten record against the UAE.

In goal for Australia, Ethan Cox (Adelaide United) featured in a lineup that included Kealey Adamson (Macarthur Bulls), Adrian Segecic (Sydney FC), Anthony Pantazopoulous (Western Sydney Wanderers), Aidan Simmons (Western Sydney Wanderers), Matthew Grimaldi (Western United), Jing Reec (Melbourne Victory), Aydan Hammond (Western Sydney Wanderers), Clayton Taylor (Newcastle Jets), and captain Corey Hollman (Sydney FC).

Following the 0-0 deadlock, the Olyroos will turn their attention to an upcoming match against Qatar on Tuesday night, concluding their campaign at the Doha International Under-23 Cup.
