Tempers flared at quarter time in the highly anticipated clash between Collingwood and Carlton at the MCG on Thursday night.
As the siren echoed through the stadium, Nick Daicos and Sam Walsh found themselves in a heated exchange, with Walsh initiating the confrontation by shoving Daicos to the ground.
This ignited a mass scramble as nearly all players on the field rushed in to join the fray.

The scuffle continued for around a minute before the situation calmed, thanks in large part to the presence of veteran ‘Pies player Scott Pendlebury, who helped steer his teammates back to their huddles.
While the situation had the potential to escalate, it appeared to be limited to a few jumper punches here and there. Up until that point, the match had been an evenly matched contest predominantly played in the midfield.
Meanwhile, supporters from both sides were incensed over the issues arising from the clash of jumpers.
Despite having a white away strip or alternate kit, Carlton chose to don their traditional navy blue jumper.
While they paired it with white shorts—Collingwood opted for black shorts—the two strips were not easily distinguishable when players turned their backs.
In contrast, Carlton seldom wear their white kit, while Fremantle and Port Adelaide regularly sport theirs when playing away.
