Eredivisie club NEC Nijmegen has unveiled six nostalgic kits that will serve as their home and away attire for the 2025/26 season.
In partnership with kit manufacturer Robey, NEC has crafted six commemorative kits to celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary. Each design showcases one of the six club crests that NEC has utilised throughout its history.
Throughout the upcoming Eredivisie season, the six kits will be donned in distinct phases. The three classic home kits will feature during blocks of six and five matches, while the away kits will be rotated based on compatibility with the home team’s attire.
Every kit encapsulates a pivotal chapter in the club’s journey, reaching back to its inception in 1900 and spanning the cup finals of the 1980s and 1990s, as well as the European campaigns in the 2000s.
The retro kit numbers are adorned with a special Latin motto: ‘Concordia res parvae crescunt discordia maximae dilabuntur’, which translates to ‘Through unity, the weak become strong; through discord, the strongest become weak’. This phrase, found on the church arch at the Grote Markt in Nijmegen, inspired the founders when selecting the club’s original name, Eendracht.
