On Monday, hundreds of thousands of Napoli supporters filled the streets to commemorate the club’s second Serie A title in three years, as the city transformed into a vibrant sea of blue during an open-top bus parade.
Naples erupted with delight on Friday night when Napoli clinched the Scudetto with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari. The city was engulfed in a frenzy of fireworks, flares, and unbridled joy, as celebrations illuminated the evening sky.
The festivities continued on Monday as a vessel carrying the team and the trophy arrived at the port of Naples, where two open-top buses were ready to take the champions on a victorious journey through the city before returning to the ship for further celebrations into the night.
Following their title win two years ago, Napoli missed the opportunity for an open-top bus parade, but this time, a million fans are expected to take to the streets.
For Romelu Lukaku, Napoli’s top scorer in Serie A, the celebrations were particularly sentimental as he celebrated his second Scudetto, having previously lifted the trophy with Inter Milan in 2021.
“It’s overwhelming, we did a tremendous job, and I’m thrilled for all these people, as well as for the team, the club, and the coach. We never gave up, and we deserved this victory,” the Belgian striker shared with Rai from the bus.
Midfielder Stanislav Lobotka also embraced the electrifying atmosphere.
“I’m incredibly happy to celebrate alongside these fans; they’re as remarkable as the city and the team. This is Naples,” he expressed.
