As Carlton found themselves trailing by 46 points at the three-quarter time mark against North Melbourne, coach Michael Voss unleashed an impassioned plea to his midfielders.
He was visibly animated as he rallied his players, with the scoreboard reading 13.6 (84) to 5.8 (38).
The message seemed to resonate, with Carlton scoring 35 points in the final term, but they ultimately fell short, succumbing to a final score of 13.6 (84) to 10.13 (73).

The primary concern for the Blues was their inability to register a goal from midway through the first quarter until the 10-minute mark of the third term.
Carlton initially held a nine-point advantage at the first break, but from that point onwards, Alastair Clarkson’s men took control of the match.
After the match, Voss expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of the entire team at the final break.
“The way we played during that period is simply not acceptable. There were fundamental aspects we value that were not executed, and this wasn’t limited to just the midfield, though it obviously starts and finishes there,” he remarked in the press conference.
“It felt as though we were unable to adhere to our core values, even under pressure, and that’s something we will closely analyse and address,” he added.

This defeat intensifies the scrutiny on Voss, leaving Carlton positioned 10th on the ladder despite pre-season expectations of a higher finish.
North Melbourne, on the other hand, sit 16th, celebrating their fourth win of the season.
Statistically, the Kangaroos excelled with a disposal efficiency of 78.2 per cent and 52.4 per cent efficiency inside 50.
Voss, however, refrained from discussing any implications regarding his job security.
“It’s about focusing on the present and improving for tomorrow. The competitor in me is fixated on getting better. We must absorb the disappointment, analyse what we need to enhance, and then prepare for the next challenge,” he remarked.
“We will move past this quickly, as we need to. My focus is solely on what lies ahead.”
Carlton faces a swift turnaround, set to play against Port Adelaide on Thursday, June 26.
