Melbourne achieved a commanding 30-6 victory over the Sharks, but the win was overshadowed by an unfortunate injury to Sualauvi Fa’alogo, who collapsed in pain during the second half.
With just two minutes remaining on the clock, Fa’alogo attempted to outmanoeuvre the Sharks’ defence in his own territory.
He was ankle-tapped by Addin Fonua-Blake and stumbled to the ground moments later, visibly distressed and gripping his hamstring.
“That’s a disaster,” lamented commentator Warren Smith on Fox League.

Moments later, the Storm capitalised on the situation with Trent Loiero crossing for a try, sealing the win for Melbourne.
Fa’alogo was later seen being helped off the field by medical personnel.
Earlier in the match, the Storm opened the scoring with a try from Eli Katoa, set up by a clever pass from Jahrome Hughes.
In the 23rd minute, the Sharks nearly responded via Ronaldo Mulitalo, but a misplaced pass from Siosifa Talakai disrupted the opportunity.

Ryan Papenhuyzen then took a cheeky dig at his opponent following their missed chance.
Fa’alogo quickly added a try of his own before the Sharks replied with one from Braydon Trindall.
Right before half-time, Briton Nikora found himself in trouble, being put on report for a late hit on Cameron Munster.

Throughout the second half, the Storm were relentless, with Papenhuyzen converting a penalty goal and Nick Meaney, Jahrome Hughes, and Loiero all adding tries to the scoreboard.
Next week, the Storm will travel to Townsville to face the Cowboys, while Cronulla has a bye.
