Melbourne Victory’s Alana Murphy has been called up to the CommBank Matildas’ squad for the SheBelieves Cup, stepping in for Clare Wheeler.
The Everton midfielder has had to withdraw from the prestigious four-nation tournament in the US due to a thigh injury suffered earlier this week.
This opens the door for 19-year-old Murphy, who will now earn her first opportunity to represent the Matildas.
