Jeff Hopkins will continue to lead Melbourne Victory after signing a new contract that extends his tenure at the club until the conclusion of the Ninja A-League 2026-27 season.
Entering his 10th season with the club, Hopkins has overseen over 150 matches for Victory and has claimed two Ninja A-League Championships during his time in Melbourne.
In addition to his success at Melbourne, Hopkins previously secured two championships with Brisbane Roar, making him the record-holder for the most Grand Final victories as a coach in the competition’s history.
Although his side lost last season’s Ninja A-League Grand Final to Central Coast Mariners in a penalty shootout, Hopkins’ team had an impressive regular season, finishing second in the Premiership race after a remarkable run of 15 consecutive games without defeat to wrap up the season.

“I’m honoured to lead this team for another two seasons and eager to continue our pursuit of success,” Hopkins stated.
“We’ve accomplished a lot in recent seasons, but I’m convinced there are more trophies waiting for this group, and I’m committed to helping us achieve that.”
“The desire to win remains as strong as ever, and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.”

John Didulica, Melbourne Victory’s Director of Football, expressed his delight at Hopkins extending his contract.

“Our targets for the upcoming season and beyond are to secure silverware at both national and international levels, and we believe that continuing with Jeff gives us the best opportunity to achieve these goals,” Didulica remarked.
“Jeff is more than a coach to our A-League Women’s side; his dedication and genuine care for his players have fostered a unique environment that the entire club takes pride in.
“This provides every player with the chance to reach their full potential.”
