EXTRAORDINARY MOMENTS as the Central Coast Mariners celebrate their FIRST Ninja A-League Trophy
Lourdes Bosch, a winger for Melbourne City, has earned her maiden international call-up, included in Mexico’s squad for a series of two friendly matches against Uruguay.
Having been born in the United States to parents of Mexican and Cuban descent, Bosch joined City prior to the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season, following an impressive stint in the US college football system at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and California Baptist University.
Signing a two-year contract with City, Bosch thrived during her first season in the Ninja A-League. The 23-year-old recorded four goals and set up nine assists – the highest in the league – playing a pivotal role in her team’s achievement of the Premiers Plate after an unbeaten “invincible” regular season.
Despite finishing at the top of the table, City was unable to convert their first-place finish into a Championship victory, succumbing to eventual winners Central Coast Mariners in the Semi-Finals, bringing an end to their 2024-25 season. However, Bosch and City still have another trophy within reach as they head to Wuhan, China, for the finals stage of the 2024-25 AFC Women’s Champions League campaign.

City is scheduled to compete against the Korean side Hyundai Steel Red Angels on Wednesday night at the Wuhan Sports Centre Stadium in the Semi-Finals of the tournament. A victory over the Red Angels would see them advance to face either Wuhan Jianga or Ho Chi Minh City in the Women’s Champions League Final on Saturday, May 24.
Bosch will join the Mexico national team once City completes their obligations in Asia, gearing up for friendly matches against Uruguay on May 31 and July 4.
