Kylian Mbappé has levelled accusations of moral harassment against his previous club, Paris Saint-Germain, in a legal submission, as confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office to AFP on Thursday, which also announced that an investigation has been initiated.
The France captain is currently engaged in a legal dispute with PSG to recover €55 million (£46.8 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses that he claims are owed to him by the club.
One of Mbappé’s recent complaints concerns the treatment he received from PSG at the commencement of the 2023/24 season, where he was required to train with players that the club intended to sell.
He believes that he was marginalised by the club as a result of his refusal to sign a new contract, a tactic that has also impacted other players and led the French players’ union to file a complaint last year.
Mbappé was excluded from a pre-season tour to Asia in 2023 and missed the opening match of that season, although he was subsequently reinstated to the squad after discussions with the club.
The 26-year-old made the move to Real Madrid last summer after spending seven seasons with PSG.
During his time at the French club, he netted 256 goals in 308 appearances, before PSG claimed their first Champions League title last month following his departure.
