On Wednesday, Manchester City revealed the acquisition of Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year contract, believed to be worth £46.3 million.
The Dutch midfielder, who becomes City’s fourth signing this week, expressed his excitement about joining Pep Guardiola’s team.
Following the announcement of midfielder Rayan Cherki’s move from Lyon and Chelsea’s second-choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on Tuesday, the club also secured left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves on Monday.
At 26 years of age, Reijnders made the switch to AC Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, netting 15 goals during the 2024/25 season with the Italian side.
He is set to strengthen Guardiola’s midfield following the exit of Kevin De Bruyne.
“I am over the moon to be joining Manchester City,” Reijnders stated.
“City are one of the most prestigious clubs globally, boasting the best coach, elite players, and unparalleled facilities.”
Football director Hugo Viana commented: “He arrives with significant experience at the highest levels in Europe, both at club and international levels with the Netherlands.
“Tijjani brings added energy, poise, and creativity to our midfield, and I believe that working with Pep and our coaching team will help him continue to develop.”
