Paris Saint-Germain refuse to rest on their laurels as they push for an unprecedented 16th French Cup title in their upcoming semi-final clash against second-division side Dunkerque, manager Luis Enrique stated on Monday.
With an unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 this season, PSG are on the brink of securing the league title again and are aiming for their first Champions League trophy, with a quarter-final match against Aston Villa set for next month.
The team will head to Dunkerque on Tuesday as overwhelming favourites.
“I plan to approach this as I always do. Since the previous season, we’ve been focused on the broader picture rather than any single match. We thrive on a packed schedule as it means our involvement in all competitions,” Luis Enrique told the media.
“Our mindset has remained unchanged; we always play in the same manner, striving to enhance our performance, and the best way to achieve that is to show respect for our opponents.”
“Our aim is to make history in France, and we need to view every match as a challenge. That is our goal against Dunkerque.”
So far this season, PSG has netted 119 goals across 44 matches in all competitions.
“(Forward Bradley) Barcola truly embodies what we’re looking for… He kicked off the season with an incredible streak, and since then, he’s been one of the players who understands that sometimes making a decisive pass to a teammate in a better position is what counts.” Luis Enrique remarked.
“A well-placed pass that sets up a teammate in a goal-scoring position is invaluable. We’re always on the lookout for the player in the best position to score.”
