Danish winger Jesper Lindstrom is expected to miss the remainder of the season following a hernia operation.
During Friday’s pre-match media briefing at Finch Farm ahead of Saturday’s encounter with Nottingham Forest, Everton manager David Moyes disclosed that Lindstrom will likely be out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing surgery.
“Regrettably, Jesper had a hernia operation yesterday (Thursday), which will keep him sidelined for most of the season now. It’s disappointing for both him and us, as he had been starting to find his form over the past month and had become a key player for our squad.”
This unforeseen surgery adds uncertainty to Lindstrom’s future at Everton, having joined the club on loan from Napoli in July 2024. His loan agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2024/25 season.
This season, Lindstrom has made 25 appearances for Everton and had started to secure a regular place in the line-up under Moyes’s management. He was also recalled to the Danish national team for the upcoming Nations League matches against Portugal.
