Barcelona winger Raphinha was honoured as LaLiga Player of the Season on Friday, recognising his significant contribution to the club’s domestic treble, while his teammate Lamine Yamal took home the accolade for Best Under-23 Player.
The Brazilian sensation tallied 34 goals and registered 25 assists across 57 matches in all competitions, helping Barca secure the league title, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
Aged 28, Raphinha joined Barcelona in 2022 from Leeds United and has recently inked a contract extension that will keep him at the Catalan giants until 2028.
In a thrilling Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan, Raphinha netted a late goal to put Barcelona in the lead during the second leg, yet the Italians managed to equalise in stoppage time and clinched victory in extra time. This match marked Raphinha’s 13th goal in just 14 appearances in this season’s competition.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Yamal showcased his immense talent following a stellar breakthrough season, scoring nine goals in La Liga and adding five more in the Champions League.
