Juventus head coach Igor Tudor has had his contract extended for an additional two years, as confirmed by the Serie A club on Friday, just ahead of their Club World Cup campaign.
The club’s new general manager, Damien Comolli, expressed confidence in the Croatian tactician on Tuesday, having taken over the managerial role less than three months ago.
Tudor was appointed in March following the sacking of Thiago Motta, with Juventus previously knocked out of all cup competitions and struggling outside of Serie A’s top four. Under Tudor’s guidance, the team suffered only one further league defeat, ultimately securing fourth place and a spot in the Champions League.
“Tudor has committed to our club until June 30, 2027 – with an option for 2028 – and will also manage the men’s first team in the upcoming seasons, starting with the first official competition to be held in the United States, the Club World Cup,” the club from Turin announced in a statement.
Juventus will kick off their tournament against Emirati team Al Ain in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, followed by matches against Morocco’s Wydad AC and Premier League giants Manchester City in Group G.
