Joseph Suaalii is set to make his return for the Waratahs this week after a month out due to a persistent toe injury.
The highly rated recruit kicked off the season wearing the sky blue jersey but only managed to play one match before being sidelined with ongoing issues.
However, in a significant boost for the fourth-placed NSW team, assistant coach Mike Catt informed the media on Tuesday that the 21-year-old will take on the Hurricanes in round seven.

“Joe’s been training hard – it was an intensive session today,” Catt remarked.
“He’s had a solid four weeks off, allowing him to clear his mind.
“He’s raring to go.”

Suaalii’s return will present a welcome dilemma for Dan McKellar, who will need to rearrange his backline accordingly.
Max Jorgensen and Triston Reilly both delivered strong performances last weekend against the Brumbies, making it uncertain if Suaalii will immediately reclaim his spot at fullback.

“That’s what we want,” Catt noted.
“We want players like Triston Reilly and Darby Lancaster to step up and challenge those who have returned.
“The benefit of this resting period is something Dan has been planning for from the start. We’ve anticipated this. It’s great for the player, allowing them to rest not just physically but also mentally and emotionally, so they can recharge and get back into it.”
