Former Spanish international Jordi Alba has officially signed a two-year contract extension with Inter Miami, ensuring his stay extends through the 2027 Major League Soccer season, as announced by the club on Thursday.
The 36-year-old defender, who made the move to Miami in 2023 following an impressive 11-year tenure at Barcelona, has become a pivotal player for the team since his arrival.
“I’m delighted to extend my contract as I’m eager to keep competing,” Alba stated in a press release.
“I’ve felt very at home during my time here, and I truly appreciate the support from all the fans,” he noted.
“We are all driven to keep on competing, to keep winning, and to hopefully secure as many titles as we can.”
Alba played a significant role in helping Inter Miami secure the MLS Supporters’ Shield last season, with the club setting a new record for points in a single season.
While in Miami, he has reunited with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez, alongside Javier Mascherano, who is now the head coach of the club.
