The head coach of Western United, John Aloisi, has disclosed that he is currently in talks with the Isuzu UTE A-League club over a new contract, although he has emphasised that he is “content with the situation.”
Aloisi’s contract expires at the conclusion of the current season, during which a dynamic and youthful Western has emerged as a title contender for the 2024-25 campaign. As it stands, they sit third in the league ahead of Saturday’s anticipated showdown against league leaders Auckland FC.

As the mouth-watering clash in Tarneit approaches, following a hefty 4-0 victory over Auckland in the previous encounter, Aloisi was asked about his ongoing discussions with the club regarding his future and his desire to remain at Ironbark Fields.
“I am conversing with the club,” Aloisi shared with reporters.
“My contract is set to expire, but at this point, I’m not overly concerned because I’m satisfied with how things are going.”
“We’re focused on building further. There’s a lot involved. It’s not simply a matter of re-signing; there are conditions that need to be addressed.”
“For now, my primary focus is on ensuring we continue our success and aid in the development of these players. The foundation we established last season has allowed us to enjoy this season so far, and we’re doing the same for the next one.”
“Whenever discussions arise about retaining or recruiting players, I am fully involved in those conversations.”
