Croatian veteran Ivan Perisic is reportedly close to finalising an extension to his contract with PSV Eindhoven amid interest from FC Barcelona.
The 36-year-old, who was a finalist in the World Cup, joined PSV in September 2024 and played a crucial role in their triumphant campaign, helping secure the Dutch Eredivisie title with a remarkable resurgence in the last few weeks. During this period, Perisic made a notable contribution, netting seven goals and providing three assists in the final eight league matches.
At the conclusion of the season, the 144-time Croatian international opted to take his time before making a decision about his future with PSV. FC Barcelona reportedly expressed interest in Perisic, whose deal with PSV is set to expire this month. Reports suggest that PSV issued an ultimatum for him to clarify his intentions.
With just four days remaining before this deadline, Perisic appears poised to extend his stay at PSV. According to Fabrizio Romano and Eindhoven Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink, both parties have made significant headway in their contract negotiations.
No final decision has been announced yet, but a two-year extension to the Croatian’s contract seems more likely following a comprehensive meeting.
Last season, Perisic featured in 35 matches across all competitions for PSV, scoring 16 goals and registering nine assists along the way.
