Harry Grant has maintained that Queensland’s training has remained unaffected by Cameron Munster’s absence as the team rallies to support their distraught captain.
Munster left the team’s camp over the weekend to spend time with his family following the passing of his father, Steven.
The 30-year-old has indicated his wish to participate in the State of Origin series decider and may rejoin the Maroons for training by Tuesday afternoon during the captain’s run.
In light of the situation, few would have judged Munster if he had opted out of the final match, but his decision to stay has garnered admiration from his Melbourne Storm teammate.
“It’s a challenging time for Cam, his close family, his extended family, and everyone within the camp,” Grant stated to reporters on Monday.
“His strength in managing this situation is remarkable… The best way we can support him is by surrounding him with our care.”

“This affects everyone deeply. Life can change in an instant, so it’s crucial to remain present and cherish the moments we have.
“We need to respect how he’s managing this and give him the necessary time and space to refocus on the Maroons and Origin.
“We’re aware he’s eager to pull on the boots, don the Maroon jersey, and make his family proud.”

There has been no indication that Munster will withdraw from the series decider, although Reece Walsh is poised to fill in if necessary.
Walsh was observed training at five-eighth during Munster’s absence.
When asked if Walsh could step into the halves, Grant refrained from getting into specifics.
“There are many options to consider, but pondering those possibilities could be a waste of energy,” he said.
“The coaches will have their strategies and discussions, but for us players, we shouldn’t dwell on that too much.
“It doesn’t disrupt our preparations. This serves as a reminder that while we cherish this game, there’s more to life than rugby league.”
