Stade Briochin’s remarkable journey in the Coupe De France has come to an end at the quarter-final stage, succumbing to a dominant 7-0 defeat against a Paris Saint-Germain side pursuing a treble. This marks their ninth consecutive victory across all competitions, achieved in their trademark ruthless manner.
After an unexpected early surge from the fourth-tier hosts, PSG quickly enforced their superiority and took control of the match.
Briochin needed Franck L’Hostis to produce a standout performance to have any hope of progression, and he started well, using his reflexes to deflect a powerful header from Gonçalo Ramos to safety.
However, L’Hostis could only keep the PSG attack at bay for so long, conceding the first goal on the 15-minute mark when João Neves capitalised, slotting the loose ball home after Désiré Doué’s shot hit the crossbar.
The home team struggled to generate a meaningful response, allowing Luis Enrique’s side to demonstrate their quality by doubling their lead just before half-time.

Senny Mayulu found space on the wing to deliver a precise cross to the back post, where Ramos was quick to react and finished from close range.
While the half-time interval provided some much-needed relief for Briochin, any glimmer of hope for a resurgence was extinguished shortly after the break, as Doué wreaked havoc and Ramos completed his hat trick.
The Portuguese forward netted his second from the penalty spot soon after the resumption, following a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the box. Doué then seized the moment, scoring a superb goal with an exquisite flick and finish at the edge of the area before providing assists for both Ramos and Mayulu to extend the lead to 6-0.
In the closing stages, all Briochin could hope for was a consolation goal, but Matvey Safonov was ready to deny Mathéo Ntumi after a skillful solo run down the left.
There was still time for one last goal, as Ousmane Dembélé struck his 25th goal of the season into the near post, cementing PSG’s place in the semi-final draw.
Among the possible adversaries in the April semi-finals is USL Dunkerque, who caused a stir earlier in the evening by coming back from 2-0 down to clinch a stunning 3-2 victory against top-tier Brest.
