Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick, has stated that belief, pride, and focus are key motivators for his team as they prepare for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. He emphasised that their impressive unbeaten streak holds no value unless they consistently perform at their best.
Flick’s squad remains undefeated in 24 matches across all competitions and is taking no chances against Dortmund, despite carrying a substantial 4-0 lead going into the fixture at Signal Iduna Park.
“I have complete faith in this team. We’ve gone through a remarkable stretch without defeat, and we can take pride in that. I genuinely can’t fault any of my players. This team is something special,” Flick remarked to the media on Monday.
“The players should relish what they are doing, and we’re prepared for this challenge. We aim to perform well not just for ourselves but also for the loyal supporters who travel with us. Our focus will remain sharp.”
As they chase a treble, sitting atop LaLiga and preparing for the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on April 26th, Flick maintains that their full attention is on Dortmund.
“Our thoughts are solely on the match against Dortmund. Everything else is in the future. We aren’t looking beyond that. Our football philosophy revolves around giving our utmost in every match,” he explained.
“We possess a wealth of talent within our squad, and we approach each game one step at a time. Competing against Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals at their home ground will always be a tough encounter.”
