The Wests Tigers have finally put an end to their seven-game losing streak, thanks to a sensational performance from the Fainu brothers, which proved too much for the Sydney Roosters.
In what was a thrilling encounter, coach Benji Marshall celebrated a much-needed victory as his beleaguered side, sitting in 14th place, triumphed with a nail-biting 30-28 win that left the Roosters reeling at Allianz Stadium.
The Fainu brothers were undoubtedly the stars of the match, as Samuela, Latu, and Sione made history by becoming the first trio of brothers to score in the same game for a single club in the league’s history.
“That’s never happened before,” Latu shared with Fox League after the match, when asked about the significance of their collective scoring feat.
“I’m ecstatic, I really am. I couldn’t be prouder.
“This victory means so much, not only for us and our supporters but for our coach. We did it for him.”

Charlie Staines was the first to score for the Tigers, showcasing a remarkable offload from Starford To’a that had him overcoming three defenders.
Latu then capitalised on a dropped ball by Hugo Savala in the 23rd minute, charging 50 metres to cross under the posts.
Just five minutes later, Sione contributed the Tigers’ third try of the day.
“It’s a Fainu-athon, they’re on fire!” exclaimed Michael Ennis in the commentary on Fox League.
The Roosters fought back valiantly, with Daniel Tupou putting on a stunning aerial display, and Mark Nawaqanitawase powering his way over to bring the score to 20-10 at half-time.

The Roosters faced a shaky start to the second half when Egan Butcher was sent for a head injury check, and shortly after, the third Fainu brother found the score sheet.
A slick play to the right, initiated by Latu, enabled Adam Doueihi to draw in defenders, creating space for Samuela to charge over from 10 metres out, scoring easily before celebrating with his siblings.
“The deception, the timing, and the direct running of Latu Fainu completely unravelled the line,” Ennis remarked on Fox League.
“That was absolute magic.”

The Roosters renewed their momentum as James Tedesco began crafting opportunities for his teammates.
Although Tom Rodwell was denied a certain try after a clean tackle by Latu in the 52nd minute, Tedesco later connected with Savala, allowing the winger to score in the 55th minute.
Mark Nawaqanitawase crossed for his second try in the 74th minute, closing the gap to just six points. However, a penalty just before the end of the match threw a spanner in the works for the home side.
With less than 30 seconds left, Tedesco’s try brought the Roosters within two points of a remarkable comeback. Still, despite a desperate effort to push from deep in their own half, they couldn’t alter the outcome.
“What a fantastic win for the Tigers,” Ennis remarked.
