Neymar’s father, who also manages him, is keen for the football sensation to extend his stay at Santos. Speaking exclusively to Flashscore during the Confut USA event in Miami, he shared insights on his son’s potential future, while emphasising that the final choice rests with Neymar himself.
“I hope he remains at Santos. I would like him to continue. The decision will be his, as always. We’ll lay out the options available for his development,” Neymar’s father stated.
“What I prioritise is Neymar’s progression. That’s why we are assisting Santos in its restructuring efforts, allowing him to thrive in the second half of the year, especially with a year until the World Cup, ensuring he is in the best environment to maintain peak performance,” he elaborated.

Neymar Santos Senior is presently in Miami to “listen to various clubs” and connect with partners associated with his son’s career. These discussions are critical in mapping out Neymar’s future, as his contract with Santos is set to expire on June 30.
Collaborative Approaches with Santos
“The aim is to restructure. Initially, we need to enhance the club’s framework; how can it attract players of Neymar’s calibre without a thorough overhaul?”
“Brazilian football needs to grow overall—in terms of infrastructure and player development—beyond just social aspects. It also requires a transformation into a viable business model. Otherwise, it will remain a league that primarily exports talent,” he further commented.

On Ancelotti’s Arrival and Discussions with Neymar
“It’s a very positive development. Traditionally, Brazil tends to favour local coaches. However, with Carlo Ancelotti now on board, we can only hope for the best.
“He’s an accomplished winner, having secured numerous titles, and he can significantly contribute to our progress.
“Neymar has already had discussions with him; they’ve spoken. After the last game, he headed to the locker room to catch up with his teammates and Ancelotti. All is well, and things are looking good.”
