Jake O’Brien found the back of the net in the dying moments of the match to earn Everton a 1-1 draw against West Ham United, extending their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to nine games.
Just a day after being honoured as Premier League Manager of the Month, David Moyes welcomed his former team, West Ham, to Goodison Park, aiming to break a winless streak against Graham Potter, having lost or drawn all seven previous encounters.
Jordan Pickford made a crucial save early on, keeping the Hammers at bay when a dangerous deflection from Jarrad Branthwaite tested his reflexes.
Everton pressurised the West Ham goal with a flurry of headers, but they were unable to find a way past Alphonse Areola.

At the opposite end, Jarrod Bowen had struggled to get into the game early on, but he came to life just before half-time. He expertly controlled a pass from Max Kilman and unleashed a powerful dipping volley that forced Pickford to tip the ball over the crossbar.
Moments before the break, West Ham found themselves fortunate when referee Darren Bond reversed his decision to award a penalty to Everton, after Beto was brought down.
The second half started slowly, and when the game finally began to open up, both teams failed to convert opportunities into quality chances.
It wasn’t until the 67th minute that the deadlock was broken, with Bowen’s finesse playing a crucial role as he slid a pass to Tomas Soucek, who maintained his composure to curl a precise finish into the corner of the net.
Everton pressed hard as the match entered its final stages, but it seemed their lack of decisive finishing would cost them dearly.
However, in a dramatic finale, O’Brien met Idrissa Gueye’s cross with a powerful header to equalise in the dying seconds, sending Goodison Park into raptures. Moyes’s side remained perched above Everton on goal difference, having now secured five draws in their last six matches.
