Flashscore is set to enhance the user experience with more detailed football statistics presented in a refreshed layout. We are expanding and refining how we showcase match and player statistics to allow for closer and more comprehensive game follow-up.
Our approach to categorising statistics is designed for easier comprehension. We will distinguish between TOP Stats and other metrics. The TOP Stats encompass the most frequently used data in football, especially relevant for betting, including goals, corner kicks, and card counts.
This update will roll out across up to 100 leagues, covering all major domestic competitions, international tournaments like the Champions League, domestic cups, and beyond.
In our upcoming update, we will also introduce detailed player statistics to provide a clearer overview and comparison of player performances in the match centre, aimed to be active in time for the FIFA Club World Cup!
What new statistics can you expect?
We are introducing the following new statistics to enrich our football coverage, giving you that competitive edge:
– Expected Goals on Target (xGOT)
xGOT indicates the likelihood of a shot on target resulting in a goal. In contrast to xG, which measures the quality of scoring opportunities, xGOT assesses how well a player executed that chance after the shot was taken (only considering shots on target). It factors in variables such as shot placement and goalkeeper positioning. Each shot on target has an xGOT value ranging from 0 to 1, with the total xGOT value being the cumulative value of all shots on target.

– xGOT Faced
xGOT Faced indicates how many goals a goalkeeper should ideally have conceded based on the number and quality of shots faced. This assessment takes into account factors such as shot placement and the positioning of the goalkeeper, correlating the xGOT value of the opposing team.
– Expected Assists (xA)
xA measures the probability that a pass will generate an assist for a goal. It evaluates the quality of the pass, considering elements such as placement, trajectory, and the context of the attack.
– Errors Leading to a Shot
– Errors Leading to a Goal
– Goals Prevented
Goals Prevented assesses the quality of a goalkeeper’s saves by measuring the difference between the expected goals they should have conceded based on the quantity and quality of shots faced (xGOT Faced) and the actual goals conceded (excluding own goals). A higher value denotes better performance, indicating that the keeper prevented more goals than anticipated.
