Myles Lewis-Skelly has officially signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, as announced by the club on Thursday.
The 18-year-old has committed to a five-year deal at the Emirates Stadium following a standout season with the senior squad.
“I’m incredibly proud and delighted,” Lewis-Skelly expressed on the Arsenal club website.
“Though those words may seem simple, they truly reflect my emotions about joining this club. As a fan, it’s like a dream realised.”
“I’ve embraced the values of Hale End and successfully made the transition. With many years ahead of me, it’s essential that I remain humble and continue being a good person—that’s what matters most to me.”
Lewis-Skelly made his way into Arsenal’s first team back in December and quickly established himself as Mikel Arteta’s preferred left-back.
During his first season, he featured in 39 matches across all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.
This past March, Lewis-Skelly earned his inaugural senior England call-up and made history as the youngest player to score on their debut, netting in a 2-0 victory against Albania at Wembley.
“I’ve gained so much from my experiences in these matches, learning from both the positive moments and the mistakes I’ve made,” he noted.
“I’m undoubtedly more prepared for the upcoming season. My aim is to continue learning and enhancing my skills.”
“I aspire to leave a legacy. I want to achieve everything possible in the sport, clinching trophies on the grandest stages while remaining someone who is always learning and stays grounded, as that’s critically important.”
