The reshuffle at St George Illawarra’s front office is ongoing, with the club reportedly keen on Roosters recruitment chief, Daniel Anderson.
Recently appointed as CEO, Tim Watsford, takes over from Ryan Webb.
It’s been since 2018 that the Dragons last participated in the NRL finals under then-coach Paul McGregor.
McGregor was dismissed in 2020, with Dean Young stepping in on an interim basis before being succeeded by Anthony Griffin, who was also let go three years later.
Shane Flanagan took the reins last year, but the Dragons finished 11th and are once again battling for form in 2025.

In a bid to restore the Red V to former glories, 9news and Sydney Morning Herald journalist Michael Chammas disclosed on Nine’s 100% Footy that Anderson is in contention for a position.
“They’re in talks about a new recruitment manager, having consulted several candidates … he’s in discussions with the Dragons and is their preferred choice … nothing is finalised just yet,” Chammas explained.

Anderson, who joined the Roosters in 2019, was thrust into the public eye after a life-changing body surfing accident in 2022 left him with spinal injuries and quadriplegia.
He made his return to the Tricolours in 2023.
Recent scrutiny has surrounded the Dragons’ recruitment strategy following the departures of Ben Hunt and Zac Lomax, as well as the controversial inclusion of Flanagan’s son, Kyle, in the team.
Last week, Watsford announced the club is actively seeking to secure a marquee halfback.
