Andrew Krakouer, a former player for Richmond and Collingwood, has passed away at the age of 42.

Krakouer concluded his career with a tally of 152 goals across 137 senior games, playing in Collingwood’s grand final loss to Geelong in 2011.
Former coach Nathan Buckley shared his condolences for his ex-player on Monday morning.
“It’s truly tragic to lose someone so young at 42,” he expressed on SEN Radio.
“He faced numerous challenges in his life. He experienced both the worst and the best. His determination to come back and achieve what he did in his career was admirable.
“He seized every opportunity that came his way. Although he had his struggles, he was undoubtedly a brilliant footballer — a calm and respectful teammate who quietly went about his work. I genuinely cherished my time working with him.”
“This news is incredibly saddening for his family and his friends.”

Krakouer was selected by Richmond in the 2000 draft with the 41st overall pick.
He enjoyed seven seasons with the yellow and black before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2007 season.
Less than a year later, Krakouer was incarcerated after being convicted of assault, but following his release, he re-entered the AFL with Collingwood.
He played three seasons for the Pies before making his way back to Perth.
Recently, Krakouer had been lending his voice as an AFLW commentator for Fox Footy.
As of now, neither Richmond nor Collingwood has issued a statement.
