FC Midtjylland has taken action against one of its fans, suspending him following an incident involving the assault of an elderly spectator associated with the recent match against FC Nordsjaelland in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening.
A supporter from FC Midtjylland has been barred from attending matches for a decade.
The club broke the news on their website in a collaborative statement with FC Nordsjaelland, emphasising their united front against violence.
This sanction comes after the assault on an elderly FCN fan, who was attacked outside the stadium following the match.
Using surveillance footage, FC Midtjylland was able to identify the individual responsible.
As a result, the offender is prohibited from attending any FC Midtjylland matches or events, both at home and away, for the next ten years.
The victim, an elderly supporter of FCN, was reportedly assaulted on a pathway behind the stadium, sustaining multiple injuries from being punched and kicked in the head.
