The powerful cyclone making its way towards Queensland has forced the NRL to shift Friday night’s encounter between the Dolphins and Rabbitohs from Brisbane to Sydney.
The match was initially set to be held at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, but with Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaching, the NRL has decided to move the game to Sydney’s Commbank Stadium.
The Dolphins and Rabbitohs will clash at 8pm Sydney time, which translates to 7pm Queensland time.
“The NRL stated that the safety of players, fans, and the broader community was the top priority in making this venue change.

“Fans who hold tickets for the match at Suncorp Stadium are advised that the Dolphins will reach out to them soon with further details and options.”
The round 17 clash between the Dolphins and Rabbitohs will now be treated as a Dolphins home game.
Authorities have predicted that Tropical Cyclone Alfred could bring with it up to 700 millimetres of rain and winds exceeding 130 kilometres per hour to south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales starting Thursday.
