Tom Robertson produced a remarkable try that is sure to be remembered as one of the finest ever scored by a prop, but it wasn’t sufficient to prevent the Queensland Reds from seizing the top position on the Super Rugby Pacific ladder.
The Western Force prop astonished the Stan Sport commentary team with his incredible effort in the sixth minute, taking an offload from Nick Champion de Crespigny before making a break down the centre of Suncorp Stadium.
Robertson sprinted nearly half the length of the field before sliding in to score, creating a moment that will go down in Force history.

“He just kept powering on. He was aware of the wet ground and knew he would slide in. What a try from a prop,” remarked Wallabies legend Tim Horan.
“I think everyone was thinking, ‘Wow, this guy is really shifting and he’s still going’,” former Test lock Justin Harrison added.
“Everyone was just watching in awe. Tom Robertson knew exactly how to get there, and he understood that momentum would carry him through.”
The Force’s flanker Carlo Tizzano also continued his remarkable form, scoring two tries to lead the competition with ten overall.
Remarkably, Tizzano, who wasn’t known for scoring tries prior to 2025, has already shattered Scott Staniforth’s club record of nine tries in a season, accomplishing this feat in just six games.
Nonetheless, Reds halfback Tate McDermott managed to cross the line with seven minutes remaining, securing a 28-24 victory in Brisbane on Saturday.
This victory allowed Queensland to leapfrog the Chiefs and Crusaders to claim the top of the Super Rugby table.
With a record of 5-1, speculation about coach Les Kiss potentially stepping in as the next Wallabies head coach when Joe Schmidt departs in October is intensifying.
