Christian Eriksen has received a distinguished Premier League accolade in recognition of his achievement of 300 appearances in the competition, as announced on the Manchester United website.
The Danish midfielder reached this remarkable milestone earlier this month, when he came off the bench during the match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Between 2013 and 2020, Eriksen made an impressive 226 league appearances for Tottenham, and he played an additional 11 matches during a brief stint at Brentford after returning to the league in 2022 following heart surgery.
Later that same year, he joined Manchester United, where he has represented the team 63 times to date under the guidance of Ruben Amorim.
Eriksen holds the record as the highest Danish scorer in Premier League history, netting 54 goals, and ranks 12th in the all-time assists leaderboard, just three assists shy of the legendary David Beckham.
Eriksen takes pride in his accomplishments within English football and continues to relish his experience in the league.
“I’ve enjoyed the variety of challenges, experiencing different styles of play under various managers and alongside different players,” he remarked.
“I would have said that when I left Spurs to move to Italy, I thought I’d never return to the Premier League. It just shows how quickly things can change in football,” Eriksen shared with the Manchester United website.
“Indeed, that’s exactly what transpired, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brentford. I’ve loved my experience here at United, and I’m still loving it.
“When you look at all the statistics and achievements, it’s simply a reflection of my career and what I’ve accomplished.”
“However, I’m most proud of the matches I’ve played, as well as the moments I’ve had in scoring or assisting goals.
“Yes, I’ve made history as a Danish player,” Eriksen stated.
He could be set to feature for United once more when they take on Everton at Goodison Park this Saturday afternoon.
