Chelsea’s Ukrainian striker Mykhaylo Mudryk has been formally charged with doping violations by the Football Association (FA) and is potentially facing a suspension of up to four years. He tested positive for the substance meldonium towards the end of the previous year.
As reported by The Telegraph, testing positive for this banned substance could result in a lengthy ban, with both Mudryk and Chelsea now awaiting the results of a subsequent B sample. The FA has also confirmed these allegations to the same publication.
“We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations, specifically concerning the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance under Regulations 3 and 4 of the FA Anti-Doping Regulations. Given that this is an active case, we are unable to provide further comments at this stage,” a spokesperson informed The Telegraph.
