Sparta Rotterdam and Eredivisie champions PSV have reportedly come to an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Nick Olij.
The 29-year-old Olij is set to take over from Argentine shot-stopper Walter Benitez, who is anticipated to depart PSV as his contract comes to a close. Olij joined Sparta in 2022 after spending three years with NAC Breda, and he has excelled during his time in Rotterdam, earning multiple call-ups to the Netherlands national squad.

Several reports suggest that Olij has come to a personal agreement with PSV after reserve goalkeeper Joel Drommel was informed he would not be the first-choice option in Eindhoven. Drommel will likely be included in a swap deal with Sparta.
Previously, Olij had been linked with moves to Ajax and Feyenoord, but no transfers materialised. The 29-year-old Dutch goalkeeper reportedly has a release clause of €2 million in his contract with Sparta, which PSV is poised to trigger.
