Brisbane Roar have announced a historic first for the club as their Ninja A-League team prepares to embark on an overseas tour to Singapore this April.
During the FIFA International window, the Roar will fly to Singapore for five days, gearing up for a landmark exhibition match against a Women’s Premier League (WPL) All-Stars team.
In addition to the match, Brisbane will conduct junior football clinics and engage in community activities, showcasing their commitment before competing against some of the finest talent in Singapore’s top league.
“This overseas tour offers a remarkable chance for our squad to face the challenges of international travel while enhancing team cohesion and personal growth,” commented Brisbane Roar COO, Zac Anderson.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Football Association of Singapore for their generous support in hosting our women’s programme.
“This signifies a significant milestone for our club as we continue preparing for the concluding stages of the Ninja A-League season.”
Part of the touring squad will include Roar striker and Singaporean international, Danelle Tan.

“I’m incredibly excited about our trip to Singapore,” said the 20-year-old striker, who has earned more than 20 caps for the national side.
“Returning home is always a special occasion, and this trip presents a wonderful opportunity to promote women’s football.
“Young aspiring athletes will witness a professional women’s team in action, providing them with a standard to aim for internationally. Additionally, it’s a fantastic chance for us as a team to bond both on and off the pitch.”

TALKING POINTS: Why an unexpected A-Leagues star ‘must be on Matildas’ radar’
“We’re thrilled to welcome Brisbane Roar to our shores. Having a pioneer like Danelle, who competes at the highest level alongside players with World Cup experience, will surely inspire young girls who aspire to achieve similar dreams,” said FAS General Secretary, Chew Chun-liang.
“We are dedicated to promoting women’s football here, and we are honoured that the Roar will contribute to our efforts through development clinics and open training sessions. It’s exciting to see the WPL community unite for a match that I believe will spark interest among our youth—interest that we are ready to harness with our Unleash the Roar! initiative.”
