Brisbane Roar have successfully reinforced a vital segment of their defence for the future, securing defender Emily Pringle on a fresh one-year contract.
Having joined the Roar from the University of California (UCLA) during the off-season, Pringle has quickly established herself as an essential part of Alex Smith’s defensive line this season.
In her 17 appearances thus far, the 23-year-old has notched up two goals and an assist for a team that currently sits sixth in the Ninja A-League standings.
Originally contracted only until the end of the current season, Pringle’s new agreement will see her remain in Queensland until the conclusion of the 2025-26 Ninja A-League season.

“I’m delighted to be returning to the Roar for another season and to continue building on what we’ve achieved,” Pringle expressed after finalising her contract.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the growth I’ve experienced as a player over the past year and for the warm welcome at the club.
She further remarked: “I’m keen to keep developing alongside my teammates and excited for what the upcoming season holds.

“The support from our fans has been fantastic, and I’m looking forward to another year playing in front of such a remarkable crowd!”
The Brisbane Roar aim to bolster their prospects of reaching the finals when they take on league leaders Melbourne City at Perry Park on Wednesday night.
Currently sitting sixth on the ladder with 25 points from 19 matches, Smith will be hoping to reverse their recent slump, which has now put them at risk of dropping out of the finals contention.
After suffering a 3-1 defeat to Adelaide United on Sunday, Brisbane have not secured a victory in five matches, having lost four of those encounters.
