The Brisbane Roar have announced the departure of esteemed defender Jack Hingert after an impressive tenure exceeding a decade with the Isuzu UTE A-League side.
Hingert bids farewell following a remarkable 14-year journey with the club, during which the 34-year-old not only became the team’s all-time appearance leader, amassing 309 matches across all competitions, but also helped secure two Championship titles.
Last season, Hingert became only the 13th player to hit the milestone of 300 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances, and the Roar plan to celebrate his achievements with a presentation at a home game during the 2025-26 season.
Originally recruited by Australian football legend Ange Postecoglou in 2011, Hingert was pivotal in the Roar’s Championship victories in 2012 and 2014.

“Brisbane feels like home to me; it has played a massive role in both my life and my family’s life—I started my family here and met my wife here,” Hingert reflected.
“I’ve lived in Brisbane longer than I ever did in Melbourne; I genuinely feel like I’m a Brisbane boy, and I always will be one.”
“Brisbane Roar will always be my club, no matter what my next opportunity might be; I will forever be part of the Brisbane Roar family.”

“I’ve worn this jersey with immense pride, and I’m thankful to have represented Brisbane and Queensland; it’s a responsibility I’ve never taken lightly.”
“Every time I set foot on the pitch, I aimed to do my utmost to make them proud and to represent them well.”
“To every coach, teammate, staff member, and especially to the supporters who have stood by me through thick and thin—thank you. Thank you for believing in me and making Brisbane feel like home.”

Alongside Hingert, Brisbane will also see the exits of Keegan Jelacic (returning from loan), Florin Berenguer, Louis Zabala, Adam Zimarino, Corey Brown, Rafael Struick, and Asumah Abubakar.
In contrast, the Roar have secured the signings of Milorad Stajic, James McGarry from Aberdeen, and Hosine Bility this season.
Roar CEO Kaz Patafta stated: “Jack has served as a vital leader and cornerstone of our club for well over a decade—his unwavering loyalty, leadership, and dedication on and off the pitch will leave a lasting impact.”
“Jack embodies the spirit of the Brisbane Roar, and we are proud to have had him as an integral part of our journey. Thank you, Jack, for your exceptional service and for being a significant part of our history.”
