Brandon Smith’s transfer to South Sydney is now complete, marking the conclusion of his time at the Sydney Roosters and the beginning of a new chapter in the ongoing ‘Book of Feuds’.

Danny Weidler from 9News Sydney has reported that the star player, who was without a contract, will be joining the Bunnies for the next two seasons, with an official announcement anticipated shortly.

The 28-year-old is expected to address this topic on his podcast alongside James Graham.

Having signed with the Roosters in 2023 on a lucrative deal, Smith has struggled to meet expectations due to issues related to injuries and performance.

Currently nursing an ACL injury, he is set to make his comeback around June.

As a past premiership winner with the Melbourne Storm, questions linger over Smith’s optimal position, and it remains to be seen how he will fit into the team at Redfern.

At the end of last season, Wayne Bennett moved on veteran dummy-half Damien Cook, leaving young gun Peter Mamouzelos to take on the No.9 jersey in the opening matches this year.

Siliva Havili and Jayden Sullivan have taken on utility roles in the first two games of the season, but neither are contracted beyond 2026 with Souths.
