Portuguese club Braga has secured the signing of 20-year-old Ivorian midfielder Mario Dorgeles from FC Nordsjaelland for a fee of approximately €10.9 million, reportedly making him the priciest acquisition in Braga’s history.
After a stint of 83 appearances and scoring three goals, the Danish side bids farewell to Mario Dorgeles, who joined FC Nordsjaelland from the Right to Dream academy at the age of 18, immediately joining their Superliga squad.
“Mario has transitioned from a promising talent to a key player in our Superliga side. Particularly in the spring, he proved to be vital during the qualification for the championship match and throughout that series,” commented Alexander Riget, the football director at FC Nordsjaelland, on the club’s website.
“Both we and Mario believe that this is the right moment for him to pursue new challenges after three seasons with us, and we are quite satisfied with the arrangements we’ve made with Braga.”
Dorgeles reflected on his time at FC Nordsjaelland, stating, “I had to put in a lot of hard work during my time here, and it hasn’t always been easy for me. However, I’m pleased to have wrapped up a season where I could showcase my capabilities.”
This transfer to Braga, who finished fourth in the Portuguese league, ranks Dorgeles among the ten largest transfers in the history of FC Nordsjaelland.
