Vincenzo Italiano expressed his pleasure at continuing with Bologna after the club revealed on Thursday that they have extended his contract through to June 2027.
Italiano made the move to Bologna last summer, having spent three seasons at Fiorentina, where he led them to their first trophy since 1974 by claiming the Italian Cup with a 1-0 victory over AC Milan.
“I am thrilled to carry on this journey,” Italiano stated.
“We’ve got many thrilling competitions ahead and objectives to achieve together. Looking forward to seeing everyone in July, more prepared than ever!”
Bologna wrapped up the Serie A season in ninth place, but their Italian Cup success ensures they will participate directly in next season’s Europa League group stage.
“We are very pleased to extend our partnership with Vincenzo Italiano,” stated club director Claudio Fenici.
“As we’ve mentioned several times, this has always been our intent, and we’re excited to embrace new challenges in the upcoming season.”
While Bologna has chosen to maintain stability, other Serie A clubs are facing a tumultuous off-season, with managerial changes anticipated at AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Lazio.
Even the reigning champions Napoli might experience changes, as coach Antonio Conte has reportedly drawn interest from Juventus.
