Bayern Leverkusen have secured the services of Algerian international Ibrahim Maza, who joins the club from second-tier Hertha Berlin. The talented 19-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract, as confirmed by the Bundesliga outfit on Thursday.
A former youth international for Germany, Berlin-born Maza made the decision to represent Algeria in 2024.
“Ibrahim Maza is among the most exciting young attacking talents currently,” stated Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting managing director Simon Rolfes.
“He aligns perfectly with our football philosophy. He possesses exceptional technical skills, is adept at dribbling, and shows great assertiveness, along with the ability to create opportunities for his teammates in a brilliant manner.”
Leverkusen, who secured the domestic league and cup double last season, currently sit in second place in the Bundesliga, trailing leaders Bayern Munich by eight points with three matches remaining.
They have guaranteed themselves a second-place finish and a spot in next season’s Champions League group stage.
