Jeremy Cameron and Bailey Smith bolstered their chances of clinching prestigious AFL accolades on Saturday afternoon, as Geelong showcased their dominance against a beleaguered Essendon side.
The Cats dismantled their opponents with a 95-point annihilation, racking up 23 goals to eight.
Cameron finished with six goals, firmly establishing his lead in the race for the Coleman Medal.

With 44 goals to his name, he sits six ahead of GWS forward Jesse Hogan in second place.
On the other hand, Smith had an impressive outing, amassing 41 disposals, gaining 760 metres, and assisting two goals.
He has emerged as a leading contender for the Brownlow Medal and is expected to poll significantly in this match.
Geelong’s display was far superior throughout the contest against an inexperienced Essendon team, with the second half resembling more of a training session than a competitive game.
Max Holmes was also in fine form, finishing with 36 possessions and a goal, while Shannon Neale contributed with four goals and Tom Stewart recorded 16 marks.
Will Setterfield was the standout for Essendon, accruing 31 disposals, while rookie midfielder Zak Johnson collected 29.

The only blot on Geelong’s performance was the shoulder injury sustained by flexible player Sam De Koning, who had to be substituted out of the game.
Just three weeks ago, Essendon was in the hunt for a finals spot, but consecutive defeats to Brisbane, Carlton, and Geelong have placed them firmly outside the top eight.
Essendon will travel west to face Fremantle on Thursday night, while Geelong is set to clash with Brisbane at home on Friday night in Round 15.
