Aston Villa have officially announced the acquisition of Dutch U19 forward Zepiqueno Redmond on a free transfer from Feyenoord.
The 19-year-old Redmond, who netted two goals during the Netherlands’ successful U19 Euros campaign this summer, opted not to renew his contract with Feyenoord, choosing instead to embark on a new journey abroad.
Redmond, of Surinamese-Dutch descent, made his professional debut for Feyenoord in November 2024 and featured in nine matches for the first team, scoring twice and making appearances in the UEFA Champions League against Internazionale and AC Milan.
“This season unfolded rapidly,” Redmond remarked on Feyenoord’s official site. “My debut, playing in the Champions League: these were moments I dreamed of as a young boy supporting Feyenoord, and they have now come true.”
“I now look forward to a new adventure in the Premier League. I am incredibly grateful to everyone at the club for their support. Though I am moving on, Feyenoord will forever hold a special place in my heart.”
It’s anticipated that Redmond will join Aston Villa’s U21 squad, where he’ll link up with fellow countrymen Ian Maatsen, Lamare Bogarde, Donyell Malen, and emerging talent Sil Swinkels.
