Paris Saint-Germain could secure the Ligue 1 title with seven matches remaining, provided they triumph against Saint-Etienne and other results fall favourably this weekend. Coach Luis Enrique is eager to maintain the team’s momentum to capture further honours.
PSG, who remain unbeaten, boast a commanding 19-point advantage over second-placed Marseille as they approach their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 championship.
A victory for PSG, coupled with a defeat for Marseille and dropped points for AS Monaco and Nice, would clinch the club’s 11th league title since the 2012-13 season, and mark Luis Enrique’s second successive championship in charge.

“We’re not champions until it’s mathematically certain. However, we are the top team in Ligue 1. We intend to leverage this moment to focus on broader objectives during these next eight games,” Luis Enrique remarked to the media on Friday.
The former Barcelona manager, who led the Catalan club to a treble including LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey in 2015, has the chance to replicate that success this season.
“We must be prepared for the challenges of the upcoming two or three months of competition,” he added.
Following a semi-final exit to Borussia Dortmund in last season’s Champions League, PSG will face Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the European tournament next month, alongside a French Cup semi-final against Ligue 2 outfit Dunkerque.
Luis Enrique indicated that PSG are fully motivated as they prepare to visit struggling Saint-Etienne, who are currently 17th in the league, just one point beneath Le Havre, who have one game in hand.
Saint-Etienne were on the verge of securing their first victory since January, having led 2-0 against bottom-placed Montpellier on 16th March, when the match was halted due to crowd disturbances with flares and a fire in a section of the stand.
“We’re travelling to face a historic club in France, and the atmosphere at their stadium is always electric. We thrive on these kinds of passionate football environments, and they provide great motivation for us. I trust everything will go smoothly,” Luis Enrique expressed.
