Arsenal has identified Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres as their key target for the upcoming summer transfer window, with interest intensifying following Andrea Berta’s appointment as the club’s sporting director.
As reported by Football Insider, while Arsenal has yet to submit an official proposal to Sporting, they are already well-informed regarding the terms required to bring Gyokeres to the Emirates Stadium.
The same outlet suggests that Gyokeres has overtaken RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, as Arsenal’s top priority.
The club’s intention, as per the same report, is to finalise Gyokeres’ transfer early in the summer, aiming to avoid any protracted negotiations, particularly given the heightened competition for his signature.
Gyokeres is contracted with Sporting until 2028 and has a release clause set at €100 million. However, the Swedish international is anticipated to depart the Estadio Jose Alvalade for a fee in the vicinity of €70 to €75 million.
