The schedule for the 2025 Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) has been officially unveiled, featuring five rounds for next year’s season.
All events from the 2024 season will reappear on the calendar, enabling the Championship to traverse five states and territories across Australia.
Pooncarie will kick off the season with the first round set for April, while the Finke Desert Race maintains its traditional spot over the Queen’s Birthday weekend in June. The Loveday 400 is scheduled for July, followed by the Gold City 450 in August. The season will conclude in October with the Kalgoorlie Desert Race.
Campbell Smith, the newly appointed Off Road Manager at Motorsport Australia, emphasized that the 2025 calendar offers numerous chances for both competitors and fans to engage in a thrilling AORC season, which is poised to be more exciting than ever. This enhancement comes alongside a boost in dedicated resources, signalling a renewed and concentrated focus on the AORC in 2025.
“It’s wonderful to see that nearly all states and territories across the country will once again host an AORC round in 2025, reflecting the exceptional efforts and high standards set in 2024,” Smith commented.
He also expressed satisfaction with the implementation of medical checks for all competitors aged 60 and above, following recommendations from the Motorsport Risk & Safety Committee (MRSC) and backed by the National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC).
“The wellbeing of our competitors is of the highest priority, and implementing measures to reduce risks in this sport remains essential,” Smith noted.
“This adjustment also brings us in line with Circuit and Rally categories, which operate under similar medical protocols.”
Smith further added that providing licence holders with updated medical requirements ahead of renewal aims to alleviate the pressure on participants, giving them ample time to consult a medical professional and meet the necessary compliance.
“We are excited about the ongoing support from our competitors and event organisers as we prepare for an exciting year in off-road racing,” Smith remarked.
